Halford, 50, died Oct. 11, 1982, at a Waterville hospital after a short illness. He was born in Presque Isle, May 24, 1932, the son of Roy T. and Eva (Kennedy) Halford. He had been a resident of Hartland since 1947, previously of Wade. He was educated in Washburn and Wade schools and attended Hartland Academy. On June 16, 1951, he married the former Joyce Pelkie in Hartland. He operated a dairy farm until December 1953, entered the National Guard and served actively in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He owned and operated Halford's Auto Salvage. He drove tractor trailer for Highway Transport. He was most recently employed by the town of Hartland as land fill operator and special law officer. Besides his mother of Hartland, he is survived by his wife; three daughters; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hartland Baptist Church. Friends may call at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Hartland, 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Ronald Parker will be officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland.
