He died July 26, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior. Read More	Arnold Max Ehlers, sr. 80, the son of Hans and Marie (Harder) Ehlers, was born Dec. 26, 1919, at Waterloo, Neb. He died July 26, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior. He attended grade and high school at Elkhorn, Neb., and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1950 with bachelor's degrees in business administration and engineering administration. He was a member of the Century Club. He also attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. On Sept. 16, 1941, he was inducted into the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on Oct 6, 1945. On Sept. 21, 1944 in Chicago he married Catherine Mickey Swenson. To this union nine children were born. She died Jan. 21, 1984. He married Betty (Haag) Alexander on Dec. 29, 1985 at Hebron. He operated "Reds" Tire in Superior until later changing the name to Superior Tire. He operated branches of this business also in Hebron, Minden and Deshler. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles, Elks, UNO Alumni Association, D.A.V., LCI Association, and a former Nuckolls County commissioner. He enjoyed gardening and traveling, and lived the winter months in Weslaco, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mickey; a sister, Mildred Mae Ehlers and a brother, Harvey Hans Ehlers. He is survived by his wife, Betty, Superior, children, Arnold, Hebron; James, Wilbur; Michael A. Hall, Bedford, Texas; John, and Mrs. Russell Genzmer (Patricia), both of Lincoln, Neb.; Hans, Gladstone, Mo.; Esther Hoops, Friend; Edward, and Marilyn Ehlers, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; step-children, Ronald Alexander, Omaha, Teresa Alexander, Lincoln, Neb. Randall Alexander and Carla Alexander, both of Kearney; and Mrs. Allen Hageman (Tammy), Denison, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; six step-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Julius Jansen (Dorothy), Council Bluffs, Iowa, Marjorie Cooper, Joplin, Mo.; and Mrs. Don Pillar (Marilyn), Colorado Springs; one brother, Eldon, Centerville, Va. Services were held Saturday from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, with the Rev. Warren Schoming officiating. Interment with military rites was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.
