He was born in 1870 in Elk River, had lived all of his life in this area and was a retired lumberman. He is survived by the following children, Mrs. Vivian Leslie of Eureka, Mrs. Kenneth Johnson of Arcata, Mrs. William Williams of Long Beach, Lee Forbes of Crescent City, Ruben Forbes of Trinidad, Alex Forbes, Ray Forbes and Norman Forbes, all of Crescent City; brothers, Claire Forbes of Corning and Fred Forbes of Portland, Oregon; and 12 grandchildren.
