Arthur Aaron Nilson, the son of Erick and Hulda (Erickson) Nilson, who were immigrants from Sweden, was born on a farm near Marquette, Nebraska on September 9, 1907, the youngest of five sons and six daughters, and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 18, 2002, at the age of 95. He grew up on the farm until his parents moved to Aurora, where he attended the Aurora schools, graduating from high school in 1925. Upon graduation from high school he moved back to the farm where he was born and farmed until moving to the Hamilton Manor in 1997. On June 21, 1933 Arthur was united in marriage to Grace Lindburg at her parent's home in Polk, Nebraska. After their marriage they made their home for over 52 years on the same farm until Grace's death on July 24, 1985. Arthur was a faithful member of the Marquette United Methodist Church, where he served on various boards and taught Sunday school. He was baptized on July 27, 1947. For many years he was an avid fisherman and member of the National Campers and Hikers Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; four brothers, Charlie, Arthur, Victor, Oskar and six sisters, Lydia Magnuson, Esther McMahon, Edith Hansen, Hannah Hansen, Artha Nilson and Hulda Nolan. Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, A. Edward Nilson and his wife Sheri of Monrovia, California, Charles Nilson and his wife Polly of Lincoln and Bruce Nilson and his wife Beth of Marquette; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
