Description	:	Art Gray, for many years a resident of this community, making his home on the Gray farm two miles east of Silver Creek, died at his home on January 1, after a lingering illness. Arthur Gray, son of Cruiser and Leah Gray, was born at Aledo, Mercer county, Illinois on August 7, 1854 and moved to Clarks, Nebraska with his parents on March 1, 1883. Read More	Art Gray, for many years a resident of this community, making his home on the Gray farm two miles east of Silver Creek, died at his home on January 1, after a lingering illness. Arthur Gray, son of Cruiser and Leah Gray, was born at Aledo, Mercer county, Illinois on August 7, 1854 and moved to Clarks, Nebraska with his parents on March 1, 1883. All those years have been spent around Clarks and Silver Creek until his death on January 1, 1939. He departed this life at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 24 days. He leaves to mourn his loss two brother, Steve of Silver Creek, and George of Yanders, Wyoming, and one sister, Mrs. John Carson of Silver Creek, besides a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Gray spent his entire life on a farm, a profession to which he was greatly devoted. He was a man who commanded the highest esteem of those who knew him, having a large circle of friends. He was of a quiet nature. His manner of greeting a friend was a real pleasure to see as he gave one the impression that he was truly glad to see him. His hand shake was cordial and his heart seemed to go with his hand. For the past two years Mr. Gray has been an invalid, bearing his burden without any complaint. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Carson by Rev. H. F. Beebe. Interment was at the Silver Creek cemetery.
