Description	:	Arthur B. Birdwell was born on March 13, 1915 in Natural Dam, Arkansas to Abraham B. Birdwell and Elzada Maldrine Dobbs. Arthur married his sweet companion, Frances Unger on October 21, 1940 at Natural Dam Arkansas. After a long and productive life Arthur passed away at his home on July 4, 2005. He is survived by four of his five children: Ruby & Ed Lord of Poulsbo, Carl Birdwell of Enumclaw, Lena & Daryl Ault of Olympia and Linda & Charles McCoy of Morton and daughter-in-law Linda Birdwell of Onalaska. Birdwell and Elzada Maldrine Dobbs. Arthur married his sweet companion, Frances Unger on October 21, 1940 at Natural Dam Arkansas. After a long and productive life Arthur passed away at his home on July 4, 2005. He is survived by four of his five children: Ruby & Ed Lord of Poulsbo, Carl Birdwell of Enumclaw, Lena & Daryl Ault of Olympia and Linda & Charles McCoy of Morton and daughter-in-law Linda Birdwell of Onalaska. Arthur has twelve grand children: Brian Lord, Debbie Nitsche, Carla Birdwell, Kela Geiger, Deah Campbell, Jeff Ault, Cindy West, Kevin Birdwell, Keith Birdwell, Krista Birdwell, David McCoy, and Tim McCoy. He also has numerous nephews and nieces. Arthur rejoins his family that preceded him in death, wife Frances, son Jerry Birdwell, his parents and six brothers: Ed, Charles, Ernest, Mitchell, Fred, Gaynum and five sisters: Cora, Lillie, Pearl, Oda, Maude. Arthur served honorably in the U.S. Army, worked on the Grand Coulee Dam and traveled the country by rail during the Great Depression working in agriculture. He worked most of his adult life in the woods as a logger retiring from International Paper as a timber faller in 1978. He had been active in the Onalaska Presbyterian Church. He loved gardening and was an avid orchardist. He was a devoted husband and father and provided a warm and loving home for his family. He loved to laugh and joke. Arthur was admired and loved by his children and grand-children. We all miss him dearly. Visitations for Arthur Birdwell may be made Friday, July 8, 2005 from 9:00AM to 12:30PM at the Sticklin Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service is scheduled to begin at 1:00PM on Friday, July 8, 2005 also at the Sticklin Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Alpha Cemetery, Onalaska. Source: The Chronicle July 7, 2005
