He attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School at Wanda for eight years. On Dec 17, 1926, he married Ruth Strobel in York. She died Oct 5, 1928. On April 19, 1931, he married Laura Augustin in Kenesaw. He worked for farmers before farming for himself. He retired in 1983. He moved to Haven Home in February. He was a member of Wanda Zion Lutheran Church where he held many offices. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Avolon Nelson of Juniata; one son Eugene of Juniata; three sisters, Martha Roberts and Erna Lierman, both of San Ramon, Calif., and Adeline Hill of Parsons, Kan.; one brother, Donald of Juniata; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
