Read More	He was born on the family farm in the Pella community, rural Adams, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He was baptized in May 1901 at the Pella Reformed Church in Pella community, rural Adams, Nebraska. He received his education at Lancaster County Public Schools, District 20, "Wooden Shoe" which was located near the family home. Arthur DeYong and Frona Fischer were married on 11 February 1924 at the home of her parents, GJH Fischer, in Pella community, rural Adams, Nebraska. They were married in a double wedding with her sister Annie and Ted Kroese. They started married life on a rented farm located at 176th street and Princeton road, NE corner, their son Lyle was born while they lived here. They then moved to a rented farm located at the SE corner of Firth road and the Otoe County line. Their daughters Jane and Margie were born on this farm. While living here he learned the carpenter trade from his neighbor, Abraham Bouwens, and became an experienced carpenter. The carpenter trade served him well, he built many farm buildings for farmers in the area and continued in the trade after leaving the farm. After his parents retirement from farming, they moved to DeYong home place located on the NW corner of Firth road and the Otoe County line. They lived there until 1955 when they sold their livestock and farm equipment and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. He applied for employment at Lincoln Public Schools and was hired as a maintenance technician and continued to work there for 15 years. They were members of the Pella Reformed Church until they moved to Lincoln and transferred their membership to the Hope Reformed Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Arthur and Frona were active in the churches they attended and he served as Deacon, Elder and Sunday School teacher for many years.
