Description	:	Arthur D. Taylor, 87, of Wymore, died Friday morning, Aug. 10, 2012, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. He was born Sept. 24, 1924, at Ohiowa, and later moved with his family to Exeter where he graduated from high school in 1942. He served in the U. S. Taylor, 87, of Wymore, died Friday morning, Aug. 10, 2012, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. He was born Sept. 24, 1924, at Ohiowa, and later moved with his family to Exeter where he graduated from high school in 1942. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II from April 30, 1943, to June 3, 1946. After his discharge he attended and graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce with an associate degree in business administration. Art married Blythe Douglas on June 20, 1948, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln. They moved from Lincoln to the farm north of Liberty in 1954, and they moved to Wymore in the early 1980s, when he became an over-the-road truck driver for Crete Carriers. Art was a member of the former Liberty Congregational Church, and later became a member of the Wymore United Methodist Church. He was a member for more than 60 years and was past master of Barneston Lodge No. 165, A.F. & A.M. and was a member of more than 50 years and a past commander of Liberty Post No. 346 of the American Legion. He was also a member and past patron of the former Loyal Chapter No. 227, O.E. S. at Liberty. Art is survived by his wife, Blythe, of Beatrice; by two children, Douglas Taylor; and Debra Kier and her husband, Roger, all of Wymore; by five grandchildren, Amy Parde and her husband, Eric; Angie Kier-Henrichs and her husband, Aaron; Brian Kier and his wife, Amber; Jake Graham and his wife, Jill; and Dan Graham and his wife, Heather; by 12 great-grandchildren; by two sisters, Betty Plettner and her husband, Butch, of Sutton; and Opal Summers and her husband, Wilbur, of Columbus; and by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Amelia (Felbrant) Taylor; by brothers, Everett and wife, Marion; and Byron; and by two sisters, Alma and Fern. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug.14, 2012, at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 505 N. Ninth St., in Wymore, with Jon Palmquist of the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice officiating. Flag presentation will take place at the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with his family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Liberty Cemetery Association with the funeral home in charge. An online register book may be signed and condolences may be left on www.ghchapel.com. Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, Wymore, is in charge of arrangements.
