Son of William Rufus Etter and Laura Alvira Wells OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, July 20, 1972 ETTER Arthur Etter was the third child born to William and Laura Etter on March 1, 1906, at Russell, Lucas County, Iowa, and departed this life on July 11, 1972, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 11 days. His early life was spent in and around Chariton and in 1939 he went to Des Moines to make his home. In 1961 he moved to the Kansas City, Mo. area, where he lived until his passing. Arthur was united in marriage to Blanche McMannis at Chariton on March 23, 1929. To this union were born 3 sons: Norman William, Nolan Earl and Norval Rodney. On July 20, 1946 Arthur was married to Laura Hulbert. To this union one son was born, Arthur William Etter. Arthur leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Laura; two sons, Norman and wife, Bonnie of Independence, Mo.; and Nolan and his wife, Glenadine of Indianola; his grandchildren, Jay, Robert, Norval, Randy and Vickie and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Greta Hulbert of Ottumwa. He also leaves his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Helen Jarvis of Des Moines, Mrs Mary Kephart and Mrs. Evelyn Kephart of Winterset, Mrs. Muriel Baber of Carlisle and two brothers-in-law, Rev. George Hulbert of Anaheim, Calif. and Everett Dyer of Chariton; a host of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura Etter; his sons, Norval and Arthur; his brother, Earl; and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Dyer. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He died beloved by all. His pleasant face is a pleasure to recall. Someday, we hope to meet him, we know not when; To clasp his hand, never to part again. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. C. Parkey of Kansas City, Mo., at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 1972, at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery.
