Description	:	Arthur Eugene White was born at Lowell, Massachusettes on the 27th day of March, 1850, and departed this life on the 23rd day of February, 1927 at the age of 76 years 10 months 23 days. At the age of 5 he with his parents moved to Iowa. There he grew to manhood. He was married to Alice Coykendall on the 6th day of December 1868. To this union were born seven children. Read More	Arthur Eugene White was born at Lowell, Massachusettes on the 27th day of March, 1850, and departed this life on the 23rd day of February, 1927 at the age of 76 years 10 months 23 days. At the age of 5 he with his parents moved to Iowa. There he grew to manhood. He was married to Alice Coykendall on the 6th day of December 1868. To this union were born seven children. On the 23rd of April 1884 he came to Nebraska where he homesteaded 2 1/2 miles west of Anselmo. On this homestead he made his home until a few years ago when he moved to Anselmo where he has since resided. Mr. White was one of that faithful band of pioneers which are fast passing away, whose sturdy strength and faith in this country have developed into the land it is today. He was a man of high ideals and an upright way of life. Besides carving out his own home in a new country, he works as a carpenter building homes for others, and these many buildings that stand as the work of his hands, were erected with the honesty and integrity that were an essential part of his character. After several years his wife who with him, had endured the hardships of pioneer life was stricken with a fatal malady and on the 6th of March 1899 died. He united with the Christian Church in the year of 1891, and ever after lived as a faithful consistent Christian. He was always a strong force for good in the community.The last public work in which he was able to engage was the building of the basement of the Christian Church. He devoted many days to this. He was married to Mrs. Marinda Straight, Dec 4th 1901. He was a man of robust health but for the past 3 years he has been in failing health. When he passed to the reward of those who seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness he left to mourn his loss his widow who losses a faithful companion. The children who mourn a loving gather are, Charles E. , Willard E. and Frank L. all of Anselmo. Mrs. Ina Mallory with Mrs. Nettie Bell of Anselmo and Mrs. Edith Warren of Benedict N. Dakota, one daughter Bertha preceded him in death less than 4 months ago. He leaves also 8 step children, 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers George and Henry of Marion, Iowa who were unable to be present and a host of friends who will sadly miss him since he " wrapped the drapings of his couch about him and laid down to pleasant dreams". source: obituary from old family files with no date or newspaper i.d.
