Floyd was born Sept. 14, 1933, to Walter and Elizabeth Swank in Hardin, Mont. He was raised and received his schooling in the Hardin/Crow and Billings/Pryor areas. Read More	July 31, 2004 11:00 pm Arthur 'Floyd' Swank,70, of Billings, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2004, at St. Vincent Healthcare. Floyd was born Sept. 14, 1933, to Walter and Elizabeth Swank in Hardin, Mont. He was raised and received his schooling in the Hardin/Crow and Billings/Pryor areas. In 1952, Floyd married Irene "Betty" Popp in Billings, where they continued to make their home until present time. To this union two children were born, Bobby and Kim. He cowboyed for various ranchers, including Benny Benion, Harvey Wilcutt and Jay Stovall. For the past seven years, Dad has worked for Jerry Brown at Ingamar, where he thoroughly enjoyed working with Albert Newman and talking with guests and visitors at Ingamar, also delighting in driving the stagecoach. Dad considered Jerry Brown a true friend. Other highlights in his life were visiting with family and friends about old times, listening to old country and country gospel music and, most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Bobby and Glen; and three sisters, Margaret, Annie and Connie. Survivors are wife, Betty; son, Bobby (Linda); daughter, Kim LaFranboise (Rich); grandchildren and families, Colby and Stacy Swank (Brendon, Caleb, Evan); Shandye Swank (Blake, Jacob); Rudie Swank; Jennica Swank, Tanna and Mike Hudson (Colton and a new great-grandchild due in Feb.); Amber LaFranboise and fiancé, Justin Caster (Metayah); step-granddaughters, Kurstin Dowell (McKenna); Heather Dowell (Jeadon); one brother, Donnie Swank; six sisters, Norma King, Tyke McGarry, Donnabell Gilreath, Ruthie Beckman, Betty Mason, Shirley Musch and their families; and the Popp family. A special thanks to Jerry Brown, Albert Newman, Charlie Mayo, of the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Marchello and nurses of St. Vincents 3 Fortin. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2, at Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 29 Eighth St. West, Billings, Mont. A potluck gathering will be held following the service.
