Description	:	Suggested edit: Arthur J. Fye, the son of Josiah and Harriett Sheetz Fye, was born April 11, 1890 on the family homestead five and one half miles north of Aurora. His death occurred on August 8, 1977 at Omaha, Nebraska following several months of failing health at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 28 days. His childhood was spent on his parents farm, where he attended the rural school district No. 56. He then attended Aurora High School, where he graduated in 1911. Fye, the son of Josiah and Harriett Sheetz Fye, was born April 11, 1890 on the family homestead five and one half miles north of Aurora. His death occurred on August 8, 1977 at Omaha, Nebraska following several months of failing health at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 28 days. His childhood was spent on his parents farm, where he attended the rural school district No. 56. He then attended Aurora High School, where he graduated in 1911. He then attended Hastings College for two years. Later he completed a course in adult education in business. On February 12, 1918 he was united in marriage to Ruth Adams at Aurora. Three children were born to them. Mrs. Faye preceded him in death on December 27, 1975. After his college attendance, he taught school for one year and then was employed for three years in the Hub Department Store in Aurora. He and his wife farmed north of Aurora until 1968 when they quit the farm and entered the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. At an early age he was baptized and confirmed in the Richland United Brethren Church near Marquette. After that church closed he transferred his membership to the Otterbein United Brethren Church in Aurora, which is now united into the United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Aurora Lodge No. 68 A.F. & A.M. His parents, two sisters, Cora and Emma Fye and one brother, Benjamin Fye had preceded him in death. His survivors include two sons, Arthur Fye, Jr. of Lincoln and Jack Fye of Hemet, California; daughter, Mrs. Betty Jackson of Meeker, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives and many close friends.
