Description	:	Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Wednesday, 6 September 1944 Aurora, Neb., Sept. 6 (Special) - Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Fye, 73, a resident of Hamilton county since 1878, were held from the Federated church on Sunday afternoon, with Rev. David Tutor officiating. An early teacher, Mrs. Fye was the daughter of Rev. Josiah Fye, one of the pioneer ministers of the Nebraska conference. David Tutor officiating. An early teacher, Mrs. Fye was the daughter of Rev. Josiah Fye, one of the pioneer ministers of the Nebraska conference. Born in Webster county, Ia., April 24, 1871, she was reared here and attended Bonebrake seminary in Ohio. she was married to Charles W. Fye, who later became a Presbyterian minister. Following his death in 1916 Mrs. Fye took further religious education in the Theological seminary in Chicago, where she received her AB degree, fitting herself to be a director of young people's work. She was on the faculty of the Presbyterian seminary in Omaha for five years and her health began to fail. For many years she was confined to her wheel chair and more recently had been helpless. Surviving are one sister, Miss Emma Fye of York, one brother, Arthur Fye of Aurora and a daughter, Mrs. Julia Wenner of Dayton, Ohio. According to ancestry records on Ancestry.com Cora's father, Josiah Fye, was a brother to Daniel Fye, Charles' father.
