Description	:	Arthur "Art" Julius Foelske, 93, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Denver, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at Unity Point-Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Art was born July 14, 1923, on the family farm West of Denver, the son of Julius A. and Hulda M. (Moeller) Foelske. He was baptized August 5, 1923, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver. Read More	Arthur "Art" Julius Foelske, 93, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Denver, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at Unity Point-Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Art was born July 14, 1923, on the family farm West of Denver, the son of Julius A. and Hulda M. (Moeller) Foelske. He was baptized August 5, 1923, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver. He attended country school at Jefferson Township #3 through the eighth grade, after which he stayed on the farm to help his father. On September 30, 1951, he was united in marriage to Leota Reichman. Together they would farm 120 acres, along with raising hens, cows, hogs and then eventually focused more on raising beef cattle. When they could break away from the farm, they would travel throughout the country and to Canada to visit family. Leota died in February of 1989 and Art retired from farming in 1999. Art was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. Keeping in touch with his family was very important to Art. He was a faithful man and loved the outdoors where he could farm, garden and enjoy nature. He was always around to help a neighbor. He enjoyed listening to polka music on his record player. Art is survived by five first cousins; Lucille Keeling of Cedar Falls, Janice Olson of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, Marlys Cagley of Nashua, Wilbert Foelske of Waverly and Dorothy Hare of Portland, Oregon, as well as many cousins, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Leota, and a sister Esther Foelske in infancy. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joyce Sandberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Funeral Home in Waverly and an hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church
