Description	:	Arthur L. Collins 8-29-1933 - 2-6-2013 Art was born Aug. 29, 1933, to Albert Collins and Lillian Bailey Collins in Billings. He was the youngest of 10 siblings and was raised on their homestead 65 miles northeast of Billings. Read More	Arthur L. Collins 8-29-1933 - 2-6-2013 Art was born Aug. 29, 1933, to Albert Collins and Lillian Bailey Collins in Billings. He was the youngest of 10 siblings and was raised on their homestead 65 miles northeast of Billings. He attended a one-room country school until his sophomore year when he moved to Billings and attended Billings Senior High, graduating in the class of 1952. He then attended Billings Business College. He joined the Air Force in 1953 and was attached to the 603 Combat Detachment c/o 92nd FTR. SQ. in Manston, England. Upon his return home, he made the decision to move to Seattle where he worked for the Bush Steamship Line in their accounting department and many other areas for 10 years. During this time he also raised, groomed and showed several breeds of dogs. He had a great fondness for animals. He moved back to Billings and tried his hand at pig farming. It was a short but fun-filled adventure after which he joined the sales force at Johnson Ford from 1972-1979. He then started his tenure at Stockton Oil, where he worked until "retirement." The friends he made while there were lasting. Art was in a serious automobile accident in 1996 requiring lengthy rehabilitation. Becoming bored with sitting at home, Art decided to help the Billings Food Bank. He stayed for 17 years, leaving his many friends and "Food Bank Family" only when his failing health would no longer allow him to stay. Art made friends wherever he went. He had a heart of gold, often helping without being asked. He was an integral part of the Billings Food Bank. He oversaw the working of the warehouse, the volunteers, and nearly every aspect of the day-to-day operations. He thought nothing of giving up personal time for the next thing that needed done. He leaves a void that will not be easily filled. His nearly fourscore years were filled with a life well lived and he has left lifetime friends wanting more. A Celebration of Art's Life will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the Billings Food Bank, 2112 Fourth Ave. N., at 11 a.m. A buffet lunch will be served following the celebration.
