Death has entered another home and left it dark and gloomy. The death angel came for the third time to the home of Sanford and Christina Carter and took from their midst their beloved son, Arthur Leroy, at the age of 14 years, 6 months and 22 days. He died March 15th at his home one mile west of Bladensburg. While he fully realized his condition he never murmured or complained through all his sufferings. While there is a vacant chair and the dear voice is silenced, the heart-broken parents feel that he is with his Savior, and that they may ere long be united where parting is no more. He was only sick a few days and everything that medical aid and loving hands could do was done, but to no avail. Although he has gone, he is not forgotten. Being cut down in the bloom of youth, like a flower, his life was made up of sweet thoughts and deeds of kindness that have left a sweet and precious memory for his loved ones which they esteem as their dearest possession. His casket was laden with flowers, which the large concourse of friends can only partially show their sympathy for the bereaved family. Rev. C. L. Walker conducted the funeral and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved family. The remains were laid to rest in the Bladensburg cemetery to await the resurrection morn. Arthur Leroy Carter was born Aug. 21, 1895 and departed this life March 15, 1910, aged 14 years, 6 months and 24 days. Lee was a good boy and a favorite among all who knew him, which was shown by the many choice flowers which covered his casket. The pall bearers were Therman Warder. Harry Carter, Will Carter, Earl Carter, Cleo Giltner and Sherman Warder. He leaves besides his grief stricken parents an aged grandmother, four brothers, Lester, Hessie, Henry and Johnnie and five sisters, Dollie, Bessie, Essie, Tressie and Eva and a number of relatives and friends who mourn his death, one brother and sister, Richard Odessa and Florence Alice having preceded him to the better land.
