Read More	Arthur Lincoln was the youngest son of William Burke and Mary Jane (Whiteside) Barnebey. He was married to Frances Ann Walker on October 18, 1883 in Clarence, Macon Co., MO. Arthur and Frances had nine children - Ruby F., Oscar Leonard, Lela Pearl, Ethel Edesse, Walker Harold, Hoyt Franklin, Zella Frances, Arthur Adair, and Mary Pauline. *** Obituary Arthur Lincoln, son of Mary Elizabeth and William Burke Barnebey, was born March 15, 1860 in Indiana. When a child, he accompanied his parents to Missouri, making their home in Shelbina. Here he grew to manhood and received his education in the public schools. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Ann Walker near Clarence, Mo. After completing a business course in the college at Sedalia, Mo.; he accepted a teaching position at Hughesville. The family moved to Rockville, Nebraska in 1887 where he was principal in the high school. In succeeding years he continued teaching in the same capacity in Boelus, Mason City and Cairo. Most of his time was spent teaching, with the exception of a few years when he operated a store in Lincoln, he later returning to make his permanent home in Cairo, where he also had a store for a few years. For several years prior to retiring he audited books for his son in Omaha and also other firms. Mr. Barnebey and his wife, the parents of nine children, enjoyed fifty-seven years of happy married life and was privileged to enjoy their golden wedding anniversary several years ago. He became a member of the Methodist church when a young man and has always taken a keen interest in political and civic affairs. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father. The garden, flower beds, lily pool and large rock collection at his home provided him with many happy moments. Throughout his trying illness which forced him to remain bedfast, he was a post patient sufferer, with never a word of complaint. His mind was clear and calm to the last. He had reached the venerable age of 81 years, 3 months and 1 day when he passed away Monday evening, June 16, 1941. Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Ruby of Lodi, Calif., Mrs. Lela McAllister of Hardin, Mont., Mrs. Zelia Rickard of Ithaca, N. Y., Pauline of Columbus, Ohio, and Ethel of Berkeley, Calif., and three sons; Leonard of Columbus, Ohio, Hoyt of Tampa, Florida and Walker of Omaha; besides twenty grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A son, Arthur, age 3, preceded him in death. [s. Newspaper clipping from Shirley Caplan] * Funeral Services for A. L. Barnebey A large number of friends and relatives gathered at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon of last week to pay their last respects to Mr. A. L. Barnebey, who passed away Monday evening after a lingering illness. Rev. E. Fern McCaig delivered a comforting message. Two hymns, "God Will Take Care of You" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by four young ladies, Miss Harriett Dove, Miss Charlotte Wisong, Miss Deralea Grossart and Mrs. Everett Vierk. A duet "No Night There" was sung by Deralea Grossart and Mrs. Everett Vierk. Mrs. R. R. Thompson was accompanist. The deceased was laid to rest in the Mount Pleasant cemetery amid a profusion of flowers. Serving as pall bearers were Messrs. John Vieder, C. A. Lowry, Charles Rolland, W. L. Heupel, Charles Rickard, and G. C. Raven. Among members of the family from a distance at the services were a son, Leonard and wife and two sons; a daughter, Pauline Barnebey, all of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Walker, wife and daughter and a grandson, Ralston Barnebey and wife from Omaha; and a niece, Mrs. Anderson Andrews, husband and granddaughter, Ulyssus, NE. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Love and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Harrison of Ravenna and Mrs. Grace Dodd and Mrs. Herman Mattson of Kearney. [s. The Cairo Record, Friday, June 21, 1941] ***
