Description	:	Arthur Pugh was born in Iowa, April 12, 1858. At the age of five years, he with his parents moved to Paola, Kansas. There he grew to manhood. On the 8th day of October 1892, ne was married to Eva Mary Fickle in Paola. To this union were born seven children all of whom survive but one who died in infancy. At the age of five years, he with his parents moved to Paola, Kansas. There he grew to manhood. On the 8th day of October 1892, ne was married to Eva Mary Fickle in Paola. To this union were born seven children all of whom survive but one who died in infancy. Mr. Pugh's family life was always happy. He was unselfish and devoted to his family, friends and even strangers. His happy cheerful disposition made him many friends wherever he went, but especially in this community where he has resided so many years. On the 4th day of January he went to Rochester, Minn., where he underwent an operation from which penumonia developed, resulting in his death, January 15, 1920, at the age of 50 years, 8 months and 3 days. He was a good citizen, a friend of every good cause, always ready to deny himself to help others. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and six children; Lloyd Pugh, Roy, Gwendoline, Vera, Edith, and Mrs. Muriel Lacy. He is also survived by his mother, four brothers and three sisters. One brother, Evan Pugh of Kansas City, was with him during his sickness and death. The funeral service was held from the Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L.R. South. the K.P. Lodge of which Mr. Pugh was a member attended in a body and conducted the burial service at Greenwood Cemetery. A very large company of friends and acquaintances was present, thus inducation of the high esteem they held for their departed friend. From Eureka Herald 22 January 1920 page 1.
