He was born June 17, 1914 in Salem Township, Allen County, Kansas, the son of John H. and Anna Meta (Ehlers) Croisant. He attended the Maple Grove School east of Humboldt. Croisant, 88, Humboldt, Kansas, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at Chanute HealthCare Center, Chanute, Kansas. He was born June 17, 1914 in Salem Township, Allen County, Kansas, the son of John H. and Anna Meta (Ehlers) Croisant. He attended the Maple Grove School east of Humboldt. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, building a drilling rig for fresh water for his troops in New Guinea. On Sept. 25, 1981, he married Florence Edmondson Isbell. She died in 1995. He worked in farming and the oil fields for Ray Wiley Drilling Company, eventually becoming a partner in the company. They sold the company in 1970 and he retired to the family farm near Humboldt. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, KS. He was also a member of the Cecil J. Meeker Post #1654 VFW, the American Legion Boerstler-May Post 170 and the Elks. He enjoyed quail hunting, and caring for his German short-haired bird dogs. He also enjoyed welding and working with metal, gardening, dancing, and telling stories. Survivors include a sister, Josephine Eskridge, of Chanute, KS; two step-sons, Richard "Dickie" Isbell, of Lawrenceville, GA, and Kenneth Isbell, of Framingham, MA; a step-daughter, Debbie Morris, of Orlando, FL; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lavera Rueh and Cordellia Stacey; and a brother, Orvill Croisant. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, led by the Rev. David Meier. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, KS. **********************************
