He grew to young manhood here and graduated from the Chester High school in 1931. He then attended Cotner College at Lincoln and South Dakota Wesleyan University. He was married to Frances Watson of Chester in January, 1935. A year later, the family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. where they have since made their home. Read More	Memorial Stone Only - Buried in Brittany Cemetery, St. James, France. ---------------------- Arthur Warren Gallion was born on a farm in Republic County, Kansas, near Chester, Nebr. on October 3, 1913. He grew to young manhood here and graduated from the Chester High school in 1931. He then attended Cotner College at Lincoln and South Dakota Wesleyan University. He was married to Frances Watson of Chester in January, 1935. A year later, the family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. where they have since made their home. He was inducted into the service Dec. 7, 1942 and went overseas after basic training at Camp Blanding, Fla. He was reported missing in action somewhere in Frances, in August, and later the word came that he had been killed in action on July 30th in Brittany. He had only been stationed there about a week. He is survived by his wife, Frances and their eight year old son, Roger Allan who reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; his father, H.R. Gallion of Salina, Kansas; his mother preceded him in death four years ago; his brothers - Persis of Dorchester, Mass. and Elizabeth Craig of Dayton, N.J. Memorial services were held on Sunday, September 3 at the Park Temple Methodist Church in Ft. Lauderdale where he was a member. His star is the first "Gold Star" in the Church Service flag there, which has over 100 service men listed. Short services were also held in the Methodist Church at Chester at the same hour, where he had been a member when a young man. Arthur or "Hap" as we all knew him had a happy good natured spirit and he will be greatly missed by all.
