Description	:	Harry Roy Gallion was born Nov. 2, 1876 at Wilton Junction, Iowa, and passed away Jan. 19, 1962, at the Blue Valley Rest Home at Hebron at 85 years of age. His parents were Thomas and Jennie Allston Gallion; he was the oldest of a family of eight children. On Jan. 12, 1904, he married Anne Warren of Republic County, Kans. To this union were born three sons: Barclay, Richard and Arthur; and two daughters, Persis and Elizabeth. His early life was spent as a farmer in Kansas, and in 1920 he and his family moved... Read More	Harry Roy Gallion was born Nov. 2, 1876 at Wilton Junction, Iowa, and passed away Jan. 19, 1962, at the Blue Valley Rest Home at Hebron at 85 years of age. His parents were Thomas and Jennie Allston Gallion; he was the oldest of a family of eight children. On Jan. 12, 1904, he married Anne Warren of Republic County, Kans. To this union were born three sons: Barclay, Richard and Arthur; and two daughters, Persis and Elizabeth. His early life was spent as a farmer in Kansas, and in 1920 he and his family moved to Chester where he was in business until his retirement. His wife preceded him in death in 1940 and his son, Arthur was killed in France during World War II. Surviving him are two sons: Barclay of Chester and Richard of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two daughters: Persis Gallion of Boston, Mass. and Elizabeth Craig of Cranbury, New Jersey; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are two brothers: Winfield of Whittier, Calif. and Arthur of Grennell, Ks.; two sisters: Mrs. Ethel Beamer of Oakley, Kans. and Mrs. Elizabeth Crissman of Chanute, Kans. He joined the Methodist Church at an early age and was a faithful member all his life. He was a devoted father and loyal friend. Funeral services were conducted January 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chester Methodist church by the Rev. Thomas Perkins. Singers were Mrs. Harold Porter and Mrs. Dolan Frye, with Mrs. Thomas Perkins as organist. The casket bearers were B.F. Coons, Clarence Palmer, Frank Larkins, Joe Hunt, L.W. Eickman and Orville Childs. Interment was in the Chester cemetery (sic), Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge.
