Description	:	ARTHUR WILLIS PRIEST Arthur Willis Priest, son of John and Mary Priest, was born May 2, 1879 at Three Oaks, Mich. He came to Kansas with his parents at the age of 3. They located on a farm five miles east of Blue Mound where he grew to manhood. February 20, 1906 he was married to Mable Clara Pitts in Mound City. He worked at farming and carpentry and in 1952 he and his family moved to Blue Mound where he established a blacksmith shop, serving in that capacity for several years. He retired 12 years... Read More	ARTHUR WILLIS PRIEST Arthur Willis Priest, son of John and Mary Priest, was born May 2, 1879 at Three Oaks, Mich. He came to Kansas with his parents at the age of 3. They located on a farm five miles east of Blue Mound where he grew to manhood. February 20, 1906 he was married to Mable Clara Pitts in Mound City. He worked at farming and carpentry and in 1952 he and his family moved to Blue Mound where he established a blacksmith shop, serving in that capacity for several years. He retired 12 years ago. Mr Priest died in his sleep Wednesday morning, February 9, 1955 at the age of 75. He was a member of the Blue Mound Federated church. Surviving are his wife, Mable and a grandson, Wayne Priest of the home; a daughter, mrs. Glenn (Maye) Gregg of Selma, three sons, Frank of Mound City, Willis of Wren, Oregon, and Earl of Pleasanton. One son, George Willard, lost his life November 1, 1943 in Italy; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Grove, Iola; a half sister, Mrs. Pearl Edmonds, Kansas City; a half brother, Sam Priest of Blue Mound; a step-brother, Howard Pitts of Idaho, seven grandchildren, and a great grandchild LuWana Martin. Services were held Sunday afternoon in the Blue Mound Methodist church, conducted by Rev. William Lasley and Rev. Elmer F. Suderman. Music was by Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Wisby, accompanied by Mrs. Lasley. Pallbearers were Charley, Fred and Eugene Weatherbie, Loren Paddock, Willis Wilcox and Ralph Benson. Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery. Out of town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Willis Priest of Wren, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. John Dalton, Fulton; Mrs Bertha Grove, Iola; Mrs. Pearl Edmonds, Kansas City; Mrs. Irene Ranney, Osawatomie; Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, LaCygne; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edmonds, Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Willie Pitts, Hutchinson; Delbert Pitts, Enid, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Martin and Don Edmonds, Kansas City.
