Description	:	Artie Ancil Partridge, son of Joseph Ira and Nora Alice [Faulkner] Partridge was born on December 23, 1917 in Wayne County, near Corydon, Iowa in the house where he lived eighty-four years of his life. Read More	Artie Ancil Partridge, son of Joseph Ira and Nora Alice [Faulkner] Partridge was born on December 23, 1917 in Wayne County, near Corydon, Iowa in the house where he lived eighty-four years of his life. Artie passed away January 8, 2007 at the Age of 89 years and 15 days. Artie attended country school and then rode his horse to high school in Corydon where he graduated with the class of 1937. Artie began farming in Partnership with his father following high school, and took over the farming operation when his father retired. He was proud of being a farmer all of his days. Artie married Lois Harriett Miskimins at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa on July 6, 1940. To this union, four children were born: Virginia Lois, Phillip Artie, Carolyn Marie, and Charles David. Artie and Lois returned to the Little Brown Church with their whole family by chartered bus where they renewed their wedding vows for their 50th anniversary. Artie had a great love and devotion to his land and the animals he raised. He had many faithful friends in his animals from his raccoon to his horses and many dogs. He was always a good neighbor. Artie and Lois took numerous trips after their children were raised and enjoyed their travels together. Artie was involved in his children's growing up, helping with projects in 4-H and FFA. In 1984, he received the honor of Honorary Chapter Farmer from the Corydon FFA Chapter. Artie was also a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge-Corydon Lodge #91. He was a Mason for 66 years and served as master of his Lodge in 1957. The Masonic Lodge meant a great deal to Artie and he wore his Masonic ring with pride. Artie moved to Corydon when his health declined, living in a small house then being one of the first to live at Murphy Place Assisted Living. For his last days, he resided at Corydon Nursing and Rehab Center where he especially enjoyed activities with his cousin Ercell Vandell. Artie was preceded in death by Lois, his wife of fifty-four years, his parents, Ira and Nora Partridge, his brothers and sisters, Claude Partridge, Jessie Sallman, Dolcie Roach, Wayne Partridge, and Jay Partridge and a son-in-law, Larry Alvan Bishop. Artie is survived by his daughter Virginia Bishop of Ames, son Philip Partridge and wife Janet of Allerton, daughter Carolyn Ruhde and husband Allen of Shenandoah, and son Charles Partridge and wife Judi of Lineville. Eleven grandchildren, Christine Skilton, Cynthia Wagner, James Partridge, Joseph Partridge, Steven Partridge, Jeffrey Ruhde, Michael Ruhde, Allison Junker, Jodi Simons, Chandra Partridge, and Samuel Partridge also survive him. In addition, Artie took pride in his thirteen great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Skilton, Kathryn Skilton, Madeline Skilton, Hannah Wagner, Chloe Wagner, Tori Partridge, Levi Partridge, Nathan Ruhde, Ryan Ruhde, Adam Ruhde, Ty Morgan, and Bailey Morgan. Artie also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
