Description	:	Artie Lee Bivens, the son of Ronnie and Minerva Bivens was born near Exeter, Neb., August 22, 1888. He passed away at the Fillmore county hospital in Geneva, March 25, 1971, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 3 days. Early in life Mr. Bivens made his confessions of faith and was a member of the Exeter Methodist Church. Reared on a farm, he gave himself to this occupation until 1944, when the family moved to McCool Junction, where he did carpenter work for a number of years. He had been in failing health... Read More	Artie Lee Bivens, the son of Ronnie and Minerva Bivens was born near Exeter, Neb., August 22, 1888. He passed away at the Fillmore county hospital in Geneva, March 25, 1971, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 3 days. Early in life Mr. Bivens made his confessions of faith and was a member of the Exeter Methodist Church. Reared on a farm, he gave himself to this occupation until 1944, when the family moved to McCool Junction, where he did carpenter work for a number of years. He had been in failing health several years. February 5, 1913, he was married to Anna Lutz of Fairmont to this union were born two sons, Bert of Walnut, Ia., and Lester of Mountain Grove, Mo. Besides his wife and two sons, he leaves four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hyatt of Fairmont and Mrs. Ruby Keil of Exeter, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He was a devoted husband and father. Services were held in the McCool Junction United Methodist Church Sunday, March 28, conducted by Rev. Robert Holbrook. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Hall of Fairmont sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Valley." Organist was Mrs. Dale Bellows. Pallbearers were Billy Whitemore, Frank Whitemore, Gerald Sanburg, Loyd Wolstenholm, Charles Klone and Harry Jones. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery.
