He departed from this life October 25, 1963 at the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island following an illness of several months, having attained the age of 59 years, 7 months and 25 days. He received his education and grew to manhood in the Cedar Rapids area. On June 1, 1932 he was united in marriage to Esther Petersen and to this union three sons were born, two of whom preceded him in death, Everett Nels and Eugene. They resided on a farm in Greeley County until 1945 when they moved to Wolbach and purchased a service station which he operated until the time of his death. His wife, Esther, passed away in April of 1951. On August 25, 1952 Mr. Watts was married to Gladys Prokesh at Winner, South Dakota. They lived all of their married life at Wolbach. Mr. Watts was a member of Wolbach Masonic Lodge Number 292 A.F. and A.M. and Wolbach Order of Eastern Star number 267. Surviving are his wife, Gladys, one son, Leland and daughter-in-law Shirley and grand-daughter Deborah, all of St. Louis, Missouri; his mother, Mrs. Della Watts and sister Mrs. Fay Mackie both of Cedar Rapids, five step-children, Mrs. Peggy DeLio of Littleton, Colorado, Jaclyn Prokesh of Denver; David Prokesh of Grand Island; airman 1st class Ronnie Prokesh of McCord Air Force Base at Tacoma, Washington; Mrs. Mary Barr of Omaha; and eight step-grandchildren.
