Description	:	The son of Col. Asa & Susannah (Fitch) Fitch, he was born in Bozrah and never married. At eighteen years of age he took a voyage to Europe and settled in Alicante and later removed to Marselles, where he establed a commission and banking house for commerce between France and the US. Later, joined by his brother, Douglass Woodward Fitch, they formed Fitch Brothers and Co. In 1828, he returned to America and made profitable real estate aquisitions.
