Funeral services were planned for Wednesday afternoon of this week at the Grace Bible church with the Rev. J.L. Garland, pastor, officiating. Asa P. Cave passed away at his home in Creighton Sunday, Jan. 22 at the age of 78 years. Funeral services were planned for Wednesday afternoon of this week at the Grace Bible church with the Rev. J.L. Garland, pastor, officiating. Asa P. Cave, son of R.Q. and Elmira Cave, was born in Montgomery county, Ill. October 28, 1871. He moved with his parents to Kennard, Nebr. at the age of three. In about 1886 his family moved to a homestead in the Sparta neighborhood and later moved to Bazile Mills where he resided for a number of years. He was united in marriage to Louise M. Saunders Feb. 7, 1900. To this union one daughter and two sons were born, all of whom survive their father. Mr. and Mrs. Cave made their home on a farm near Bazile Mills until an ankle injury caused them to leave the farm. He then entered the hardware business in Bazile Mills until 1919 when he sold the business there and purchased the Wm. Saunders hardware in Winnetoon. Due to ill health he sold the business and moved to Bethany, Nebr. and later to Litchfield, Ill. They returned to Nebraska in 1928 and moved back to the home place at Bazile Mills in 1929, where they lived until last April. At that time they moved to Creighton. He was regular in attendance at church services wherever he lived and was a member of the Grace Bible church in Creighton at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Ehrenberg of Creighton; two sons, Robert of Saginaw, Mich. and Burdette of Bay City, Mich.; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three brothers, Roy and Herbert of Pawnee, Ill. and J.
