He was a farmer (1000), living at Elmwood Twp., Peoria co., Illinois in 1850. In September of 1854 the family migrated from Elmwood, Illinois to Morning Sun, Louisa co., Iowa. March 29, 1905, ae, 80 years, 6 months & 4 days - Burial was in the Maple Hill cemetery, Osceola, Clarke co., Iowa. Osceola Sentence - March, 1902 - Father Bevans died at his home seven miles northeast of Osceola, Sunday, March 2nd, aged eighty-two years and twenty five days. The funeral was held at his late home Monday, in the presence of a large congregaton of friends and neighbors. Rev. J. C. Porter conducted the services. The body was interred in the Osceola cemetery. Mr. Bevans was born in Highland co., Ohio, February 5, 1820.
