Description	:	Atwood Llloyde Hyson Friends and relatives were grieved to hear of the death of Atwood Hyson at his home in Simpson's Corner, Jan. 17th, 1941, after an illness of nine years with asthma, during which time he was lovingly cared for by his wife, the former Edna Mailman of Baker's Settlement. Surviving is his mother, Mrs. Harriet Hyson, who visited her son so faithfully during his sickness, and helped him through many a lonely hour; also seven brothers; Stanley, Loran, Reginald and Lester of Simpson's Corner, Fred of Nictaux Falls, Clark and Dennis of the U.S.A.; a sister, Mrs. Earle DeMone, of Simpson's Corner, also survives him. At the time of Mr. Hyson's sickness he had completed six years of work with A. W. Allen & Sons, Middleton, and was considered a carpenter and cabinety-maker of excellent workmanship, and was very progressive and ambitious. He studied nights for three years, taking a Building Contractor's course with the International Correspondence School, and received his diploma in 1940. He worked in Bridgewater, Halifax, Moncton and Yarmouth. His last work was a residence for Harold M. Langille, Yarmouth in 1932. From that time on his sickness became chronic and kept him an invalid, but he bore his affliction with such courage and patience that it was an inspiration to all who came in contact with him. Atwood Hyson will be remembered as a very conscientious man, his suffering an example for all to learn that courage and faith in the end conquers even the sting of death; for he welcomed the call to his home in Heaven, there to await the coming of those he loved so well on earth. The services were conducted at the home and church by Rev. W. H. Palmer, New Germany. He was laid to rest in the new Hillside cemetery at Simpson's Corner, in sight of his boyhood home.
