Audrey attended country school and Denison, Iowa High School. After her high school graduation she attended summer school in Denison and received her teaching degree. Audrey married Bennie L. Kline on June 6, 1948, at the Zion Church Parsonage in Denison, Iowa. The couple worked and lived on two different farms before moving to Dunlap in 1963. They were blessed with three children. Audrey attended country school and Denison, Iowa High School. After her high school graduation she attended summer school in Denison and received her teaching degree. Audrey married Bennie L. Kline on June 6, 1948, at the Zion Church Parsonage in Denison, Iowa. The couple worked and lived on two different farms before moving to Dunlap in 1963. They were blessed with three children. Audrey taught in several country schools. She also worked as a waitress, de-tasseled corn several summers, and cleaned houses. She also was a caregiver to an elderly lady, washed dishes at the school in Dunlap, Iowa and was a house parent for WESCO in Denison. Audrey was a member of the Congregational Church in Dunlap, Iowa. She loved her grandchildren and she always had fresh cookies on the counter for them. She enjoyed bowling, dancing in her younger years, vacationing with her husband and family, playing cards, and watching her favorite television shows: CSI and Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed reading, church functions and was very active in serving the funeral lunches. Audrey found faith in the Lord through the ministry of her brother-in-law, Melvin Shirey, at the time of her mother's passing. Audrey died on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at her home at the age of 92 years, seven months, and seven days. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben Kline; granddaughter, Jammy Bonham; three brothers: Jack, Les and Alfred Petersen; two sisters: Bernice Olson and Clara Hatella; and son-in-law, Kenneth Bonham. Left with memories are her three children, Benny E. (Gene) Kline and his wife Donis of rural Earling, Iowa, Johnele and her husband Jim Bonham of Dunlap, Iowa, and Mary Bonham of Dunlap, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorthy Shirey of Jackson Missouri and Retia Petersen of Woodbine, Iowa; sister-in-law, Loretta Petersen of Denison, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be 10 am Thursday, June 29, at the Congregational Church, 702 Jeroleman Street, Dunlap, IA Memorials in Audrey's name may be given to the Dunlap Fire & Rescue Departments or to the Congregational Church.
