He was a member of the... Read More	BENNIE L. KLINE Bennie L. Kline, son of Daniel and Bertha Brundidge Kline, was born on June 17, 1919, in Crawford County, Iowa. He died on Friday, May 29, 1987, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, following a massive heart attack. Ben attained the age of 67 years 11 months and 12 days. Ben received his education in the Crawford County country schools. He served his country as a member of the Army spending some time overseas. He was a member of the VFW Post 9707. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. He was united in marriage to Audrey Petersen of Denison, Iowa, on June 6, 1948. This home was blessed with one son and two daughters. Ben was engaged in farming for a while, later he was employed by Quad States building grain elevators. He retired in 1978. He continued an active life doing odd jobs and assisting with many community activities. During the past few years he spent a great deal of time fixing up the park at the dam site. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; his children and their spouses, Gene and Donis Kline, Johnele and Jim Bonham, Mary and Kenneth Bonham, all of Dunlap, Iowa; two brothers, Donald Kline of Schleswig; Harvey Kline of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Sadie Zimmerman of Earling, and Lola Earp of Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services were held Monday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Dunlap with the Rev. Ray Reimer officiating. Music was provided by Mary Roberts with Bev Price as organist. Pallbearers were Steve Zimmerman, Terry Kline, Curtis Olson, Alan Kline, Donald Kline, Richard Christiansen. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Military services were provided by Dunlap American Legion Post No. 224. Published in The Dunlap Reporter (Dunlap, Iowa) on Thursday, June 4, 1987. **************************** Photo of PVT Bennie L.
