Description	:	August F. Schneider, son of Herman and Mary Schneider, was born September 28, 1886 at Hampton, Neb. He passed away at Lincoln, July 20, 1963, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 22 days. Although he lived in the Shickley community and other communities during his lifetime, he spent most of his life in Geneva. He was engaged in the general merchandise business many years. Schneider, son of Herman and Mary Schneider, was born September 28, 1886 at Hampton, Neb. He passed away at Lincoln, July 20, 1963, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 22 days. Although he lived in the Shickley community and other communities during his lifetime, he spent most of his life in Geneva. He was engaged in the general merchandise business many years. October 4, 1911, he was united in marriage to Clara Pearl Hitch at Hastings. To this union were born two children, Clarence of Grand Island and Dorthy, Mrs. Lewis Simkovsky of Casper, Wyo. After the death of his wife, he continued to reside in Geneva, being a loyal booster for his community and its activities. He assisted in promoting sports activities, the county fair and other events of importance to his community and county. He served several years as bailiff of the Fillmore County District Court. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Dora and a brother, Fred. Surviving are his daughter, Dorothy and her husband; his son Clarence and family; two brothers Carl E. Schneider of Geneva and William P. Schneider of Oceanside, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. W. F. Yetman of Hastings and Mrs. W. E. Harrison of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Church in Geneva at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, with Rev. Paul Ulenberg officiating. Pallbearers were J. L. Cumberland, John Kroll, E. J. McClusky, Leslie Pool, Morvan McKimmey and Albert Tobiassen. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery at Geneva.
