Description	:	At 2'clock yesterday in the Lutheran church, Mr. August Renner took his bride Miss Marie Fangmeier to the alter, where they were pronounced man and wife. Friends and relatives were assembled to see the ceremony performed, the ring ceremony being used by the pastor. Miss Anna Fangmeier, sister of the bride and Mr. August Renner, brother of the groom were bridesmaid and best man, while Miss Elenor Gherke of Beatrice acted as maid of honor. After the ceremony the guests went to the home of the bride where they enjoyed a pleasant evening, a fine supper being served before the guests departed. The young people will soon establish their own home on a farm near Kramer. May joy, health, and happiness abide with them throughout their wedded life. Source: The Crete News, December 18, 1919 ********************** August Frank Renner, 67, died at the Veterans' Hospital in Lincoln after a lingering illness. He had been an employee of the hospital for 19 years as an attendant. Surviving him are his wife, Marie; three sons, Raymond, Crete; Robert of Hallam; Eldon, who is in military service; two daughters, Esther Cudly, Lincoln; Eleanor Rotthaus, Lincoln; two brothers, Fred and Matt, both of Crete; five sisters, Mary Mundt, Crete, Rose Von Warmer, Chine Valley, Arizona; Margaret Schernikau, Crete; Elizabeth Johnson, Crete; and Mathilda Reeves, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 12 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the St. John Lutheran Church near Kramer Monday afternoon with the Rev. W.L. Ernstmeyer officiating. Burial was in the St. John's church cemetery. Military graveside rites were conducted by the members of the VFW, of which he was a member. Born on a farm near Kramer, October 18, 1890 he was baptized in the St. John Lutheran Church. He was married to Marie Helen Fangmeier on December 17, 1919. His eldest son, Melvin, preceded him in death. He served in World War I and received an honorable discharge and lived on a farm northwest of Kramer until 1954 when he and Mrs. Renner moved to Lincoln. Source: The Crete News, May 29, 1958
