Description	:	August Glahn August Glahn, son of Mr. August Glahn, Sr and his wife Katherine Wier Glahn, was born at Holugen, Germany, November 23, 1871. In childhood he was nutured in the Catholic faith. In the year 1894, at age 23, Mr, Glahn came to America and settled at Assaria, Saline County, Kansas. Here he became acquainted with Sophia Lauxmann, whom he married August 4, 1896. Sometime after their marrieage the young couple moved to Roxbusy, McPhersons County, Kansas, where they anticipated spending many happy years of married life, but death curtailed their mutual plans by claiming both the mother and the infant... Sometime after their marrieage the young couple moved to Roxbusy, McPhersons County, Kansas, where they anticipated spending many happy years of married life, but death curtailed their mutual plans by claiming both the mother and the infant child April, 1898. On August 29, 1988, Mr Glahn married Miss Mary Forrer of New Basel, Kansas. After remaining several years at Roxbuy, Mr. and Mrs. Glahn removed to Carlton, where they remined until about ten years ago when they retired to Abilene. This union was blessed with four children, three sons and one daughter; August, living at Carlton; Henry, living at Gypsm; Mrs. Ida Book, living at the home address; and John, of Wichita, Kansas. Beside the widow and the children, he is also survived by three botherw and a sister, Henry, John, Anthony, and Louisa, residing in Germany, and two grandchildren. Mr. Glahn was man with wide acquaintanceship, having been a successful farmer in various communities in which he lived. He passed away at his home, 201 South Buckeye Avenue, Abilene, Kansas, Thursday evening at 11 o'clock, 60 years, 8 months and 12 days. Abeline News Paper clipping Date 1932
