Scholz, 69, a real estate and insurance man in Neligh for 34 years, died Monday morning at the Antelope Memorial hospital after an illness of six months. Pallbearers will be Eric Thielman, Ken Scofield, Joe and A. W. Contois, William Miller, Frank Morrison and Ray Good. August Julius was the son of Charles and Rosa Scholz and was born at Frankfort, Kans. in 1882. He attended high school at Frankfort and the academy at Hiawatha, Kans., and attended Grand Island Business college for two years. At Hiawatha he studied the violin and later took an active part in the orchestra at Grand Island Business college. For a number of years he held classes for violin students. He began his business career as assistant cashier in the A. W. Clark Bank at Papillion in 1910. On October 27, 1912, he was married to Martha H. Meyers of Papillion. The made their first home in Creighton where Mr. Scholz was employed in the bank. They moved to Clearwater in 1913 where Mr. Scholz was employed in the Citizens State bank as cashier. While in Clearwater he established the first Ford agency in the community and it was there that Mr. Scholz began and insurance and real estate business under his own name. In 1918 the business moved to Neligh. In 1946, Mr. Scholz took his son-in-law, Robert Gaskill, into the business as partner. He leaves his wife and two daughters, Pansy (Mrs. Frank Sikorski of Clearwater, Fla.) and Faith (Mrs. Robert Gaskill of Neligh), three grandchildren, Michael and Anne Marie Sikorski and Renee Ellen Gaskill. Mr. and Mrs. Sikorski are unable to attend the funeral because of the birth of a new daughter, Anne Marie. They visited here twice during Mr. Scholz's illness.
