Description	:	August "June" L. Wetovick Jr., 84, of Fullerton died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Fullerton. Burial will be at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Fullerton with military rites by Fullerton American Legion Post 151. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. scripture service followed by a rosary by the Knights of Columbus at the church. Mr. Wetovick was born Sept. 7, 1926, near Cedar Rapids to August Sr. and Eva (Zaucha) Wetovick. He grew up in the Cedar Rapids area attending and graduating from Cedar Rapids High School in 1943. He then worked in Omaha until entering the United States Army in 1946. He was an honor guard for General McArthur in Tokyo, Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1947. He began farming in 1948 near Fullerton. In June 1950, he married Patricia Reitz at Genoa. They continued farming in the Fullerton and Belgrade area all his life. He retired in 1991. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Fullerton American Legion Post 151, Eagles Club, he was an Honorary Chapter and State Degree in Future Farmers of America. He loved his family, farming, attending auctions, recycling metal and in his later years reading various books and magazines. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of 61 years; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Joet Wetovick, Ken and Karyn Wetovick, Rick and Marne Wetovick, Rod and Penny Wetovick, all of Fullerton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndy and Kenny Pilakowski, of Genoa and Pam and Tom Cooper, of Moville, Iowa; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters, Theresa Nearhood, of Las Vegas, Loreta Olson of Maryland and Adrienne Smith, of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Don Mustard; three brothers, Ted Wetovick, Dennis Wetovick and Paul Wetovick; and one sister, Delphine Whelan.
