Funeral services will be held at the Danekas Funeral chapel at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 7 with burial in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. August William Sickman was born may 10, 1886 in Germany. He attended school in Ritzville. He and Margaret McGrath werer married in Spokane on Jan. 8, 1911. He had lived in Ritzville 76 years of his 77-year lifetime. He attended school in Ritzville. He and Margaret McGrath werer married in Spokane on Jan. 8, 1911. He had lived in Ritzville 76 years of his 77-year lifetime. Sickmann was an auto mechanic and operated a garage here. He was fire chief of Ritzville for 25 years, and built the first power drive fire truck used here. He is surived by his wife Margaret at the home; by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Anderson of Moses Lake; Mrs. Louise Stevenson of Milwaukee, Oregon and Mrs. Jean Epperson of Wilbur; and by a son, Major James Robert Sickman, Indian Head, Maryland. Major Sickman is in the Andrews Air Force base hospital and will not be able to attend the funeral of his father. A brother, William Sickman of Ritzville, also survives. There are 12 grandchildern and one great-grandchild surviving. Rev. Albert Wagner will conduct the funeral. Pallbearers will be Marvin Bastron, Clint Rowe, Larry Benzel, Earl Luiten, Walter Hennings and Jake Harder. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Colwell, William F. Wellsandt, William Oestreich, Dave Hoefel, Fred Langenheder and Albert E. Manke. Ritzville Journal Times March 5, 1964. Fathers name was Herman Sickman B.1858 Germany D. 1947 Ritzville according his obit. August's other was Caroline Louise Bierman 1846 Germany D. 2-10-1922 Ritzville. Her obit mentions she was married before to a Bierman and has one surviving son from that marriage, Henry Bierman of Lind.)
