Description	:	Augusta was the daughter of Ira Strong and Abigail Cass. She married Milan E Sharp in 1867. They were the parents of 8 children: Mary, Charles, William, Emma, Milan, Lucius (died 1890), Charlotte, and John (born 1880, died 1881). January 14, 1921 - Humboldt Republican - Miss Augusta A. Strong was born in Friendship, Allegany county, New York, October 21, 1836, where she grew to womanhood. Read More	Augusta was the daughter of Ira Strong and Abigail Cass. She married Milan E Sharp in 1867. They were the parents of 8 children: Mary, Charles, William, Emma, Milan, Lucius (died 1890), Charlotte, and John (born 1880, died 1881). January 14, 1921 - Humboldt Republican - Miss Augusta A. Strong was born in Friendship, Allegany county, New York, October 21, 1836, where she grew to womanhood. In the early sixties she came west to Iowa to visit a sister at McKnight Point, in Wacousta township. Her people moved out from New York the following year. She taught school in Pocahontas and Palo Alto counties for several years. In 1867 she was married to Milan E. Sharp and went to live on an Iowa homestead where they lived for twenty-four years & during the visitudes of an early pioneer life. They were blessed with eight children of whom four have passed into the beyond and four are living who are: Mrs. Mary Saddler, of LaHabra, California; Chas. A. Sharp of Humboldt, Iowa; William S. Sharp of Algona, Iowa; and Milan E. Sharp Jr. of Plover, Iowa. All the children were present at the funeral but Mrs Mary M. Saddler of California. Mrs Sharp was converted and joined the Baptist church in her early girlhood in New York. She lived a faithful, consistent Christian life and died in the faith of the Lord Jesus. She was ready and willing to answer his call and go home to her savior. She has always been a faithful, loving mother to her children. For the past five yean she has been poorly, but not until the last few weeks had her condition been considered serious. She was a member of the Bradgate Baptist church and was a faithful member. She passed away on Jan 6 at 6:30 in the morning at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 16 days of age. The funeral service was held at the Baptist church with Rev Morgan Jones of Des Moines her former pastor, officiating. She leaves her husband, four children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren to mourn her loss. Interment took place at the Powhatan cemetery near Plover, Pocahontas county, Iowa.
