Mrs. Quivey's maiden name was Augusta J. Burns and she was born at Brownsville, Knox county[OH], April 3, 1850. She came to Silver Lake at the age of sixteen, making her home with her uncle and aunt, James Hall and wife. She married Robert E. Quivey, a Civil war veteran, in August, 1868. Most of their married life was spent in North Manchester, Mr. Quivey being in the mercantile business for a number of years. Five children were born to them, two of whom, Grace Van Studdiford and Ralph, preceded the mother in death. Surviving children are Miss Maude, who lived with her mother, Claude of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Mary Gregory of Fresno, California. There are also six grandchildren.
