Robert E. and Augusta J. Burns were married on Aug. 9, 1868, in Kosciusko Co., IN. They were the parents of Claude E., Ralph, Mary (Gregory), Grace Ann and Iva Maude Quivey. Robert was a partner in the Quivey, Ridgley and Wolfe dry goods store in North Manchester in the 1890s. In the 1880 Federal Census, Robert's occupation was "Dry Goods Clerk." Obituary: Robert Quivey died at his home in this city this morning at 4 o'clock from an attack of heart trouble brought on by a severe attack of hardening of the arteries. He took suddenly ill and died while his wife was holding him in a chair and while waiting for medical assistance to arrive. Mr Quivey was a civil war veteran and was one on the best known and respected citizens of this city. He is survived by five children, Miss Grace is better known to the theatre-going public as Miss Grace von Studdiford, who was such a success in grand opera circles and who is at present filling an engagement in New York. Two of the children reside in California and a brother is with Miss Grace in New York. No funeral arrangements are known at this time as the time of the arrival of the children is unknown.
