She entered the hospital the previous day. she had been in Phoenix about four and one - half years with her son, R. E. Ellson, a former Muscotah postmaster, and his wife, who gave her the most devoted care. She had planned to return this spring to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Dittemore, Atchison. Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Congregational church in Muscotah. The Rev. Richard Wentling will officiate. Burial will be in the Muscotah cemetery. The Eastern Star will conduct services at the grave. Mrs. Ellson, the former Augusta Lyon, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lyon. She was born Oct. 23, 1869, at Oskaloosa, but spent most of her life in Muscotah. She and Charles Ellson were married July 8, 1891. He was a Muscotah merchant for more than 60 years before his death in January, 1946. Mrs. Ellson was devoted to her home and family and took a keen interest in her friends, church and civic affairs. Her home at Muscotah was noted for its hospitality. She made a home for son-in-law, Hans Lassen, following the death of her daughter, Mrs. Grace Lassen, in 1928, and reared her grandson, Ralph Lassen. Her long life was one of service to others. Mrs. Ellson was a member of the Congregational church, the Excelsior Sunday school class, Ella Maynard Missionary society, Muscotah study club, and the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by a son, Ralph Ellson, Phoenix, and his wife, Gladys, with whom she been living; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Allison, Monte Vista, Colorado., and Mrs. Marvin Dittemore, Atchison. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Edith Meyer, how lives in Idaho; five grandchildren, Mrs. Albert Hurtt, Center, Colorado., Ralph Lassen, Muscotah, Webb Allison, Monte Vista, Colo., Mrs. Harry Walker, Brunswick, Maine, and Mrs. Charles Ivy, Benton Harbor, Mich., eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Hans Lassen and Mrs. Carl Stoddard, and a step grandson, Jack Jones, a brother and several sisters preceded her in death. Roy Lewis, Bean Lawrence, Oliver Rice, Graham Lukens, Frank Peabody and Francis Christ will be pallbearers.
