Hamberg-New York service. ================================== From the early 1900's until their deaths, Reinhold & Bertha Radtke lived on Chittenden Avenue in Akron, Ohio. Otto Nitz and his wife, Minnie Marie (Tiske) Nitz lived on Chittenden Avenue also (these two families were neighbors for approx. 40 years). Otto Nitz, Minnie & son William arrived in America on May 5, 1902. The Ship's Manifest noted their Destination as Akron, Ohio. Their sponsor; Reinhold Radtke (was noted as a brother-in-law). Otto Fredrick Nitz and Emil Henry Nitz were brothers. The Radtke's had 3-children; 1) Erna Radtke was the oldest child. 2) Elsa G. Radtke, b. June 23, 1897, Akron, Ohio Elsa died June 2, 1924, age 26, Akron, Ohio. 3) Frederick Radtke, b. Nov 29, 1899, Akron, Ohio, died before 1910. Note: A few years after Emil Nitz passed away, Erna married Charles Diamond, he was a very nice man. They had a travel trailer and spent alot of time traveling. Both of Erna's daughters were living in California, so they came here frequently. When Charles Diamond died, Erna came to California (Hemet) where she lived with Florence & Lloyd until she died. Many researchers do not know that she remarried, OR that she left South Dakota. This has caused considerable confusion.
