Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Mar 4, 1938 - pg. 1 Augustus Boynton Augustus Boynton was born November 11, 1863, at East Palermo, Maine and died at his home in Edgar, Nebraska, February 27. 1938 at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 16 days. When eight years of age he with his parents left Maine and came to Nebraska. They arrived in Clay Center July 15, 1872 and he has made his home in or near Edgar ever since. He was one of the early pioneers of this country and knew a great deal about pioneer life. He united with the Baptist Church in Edgar early in life and was a faithful member until the church was closed. He then attended the Methodist Church and was always present until his health failed him. He was a staunch Christian and supporter of the church. He leaves to mourn his departure, a brother, Herman Boynton; a half sister, Mrs. Blanche Lyman, Gresham, Oregon; on nephew, Elbridge Boynton, Angus, Nebraska; a step-sister, Mrs. Vesta Beck of Beatrice, Nebraska, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Edgar Methodist Church with Rev Homer B. Hix in charge. A quartette composed of Mrs. Lester B. Dalton, Mrs. Alvie Bueoy, M. E. Cushing and Cecil Strawser sang "Under His Wing," "Going Down the Valley" and "Rock of Ages." The pallbearers were Wm Reid, James Chance, Ed Bohling, Arthur Swanson, Ralph McKinney and Charles Storrs. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
