At age 24 she married Joseph Edward Pilkenton on 18 June 1882. Aurilla and Joseph had two children: 1. Mary Etta Pilkenton (1885-1964) 2. William Fillmore Pilkenton (1887-1996?) It is believed that she died of complications at the attempted birth of their third child in a miscarriage. She is most likely buried in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklinville, Randolph County, North Carolina in an unmarked grave next to her husband along a white flint stone wall. |
