Wylie near Gilman, on Friday afternoon of heart disease. Mrs. Keables had been subject to attacks of the disease before, and when she was stricken she was lying down, having felt the attack approaching. Mr. and Mrs. Keables had been residents of the Gilman neighborhood since 1904. Mrs. Keables' maiden name was Avis Parmer Talbot. She was born in Portage county, Ohio, on January 7, 1838. In 1854 her parents came west to Pella, where on August 16, Miss Talbot became the wife of James B. Keables. After living in Pella until 1869, Mr. and Mrs. Keables and family moved to Union county, where they lived until 1870, when they went to a farm near Prairie City. In the spring of 1901, they moved to Des Moines, where they remained until 1904. When their last daughter was married they came to live with Mrs. Wylie, with whom they have since made their home. Before coming to Gilman, Mrs. Keables was a member of the Baptist Church, but after taking up her residence there she joined the Congregational Church, in which she had been an active worker. Of the ten children born to the couple, only three are living. They are Mr. B.F. Keables and Mrs. Wylie, of Gilman, and Mr. A.P. Keables, of Eddy, Oklahoma. Mr. Keables survives his wife. The funeral will be held from the Congregational Church, Rev. George Chapman officiating, burial in Prairie View Cemetery. Added 23 Jan 2022∼ On Aug. 16, 1855 the Rev. E. H. Scarff married James Keables to Avice Parmer Talbot in Pella, Iowa. They had 10 children together Their children not listed here include; Hattie M., born Apr 25, 1862; died Aug 15, 1862.
