She was a homemaker, and had been a seamstress at Bornemann Products. She was a beauty school graduate and owned her own beauty shop. Aker, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 1, 1995. Avis is survived by her daughter, Becky Golden of Etna Green and her son Glenn Aker, Jr. of Bourbon, along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Norman, Arden, John and Luster Kunkel. A memorial service was held on Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home in Bourbon. Interment is planned for Etna Green Cemetery.
