Kunkel, 69, who resided one and one-fourth miles east of Tocsin, died at 5:05 this morning at the Methodist hospital in Fort Wayne where he had been a patient for two weeks. Death was attributed to carcinoma. Born Oct. 10, 1882, in Tocsin, the decedent was the son of John O. and Melissa Blue Kunkel. He was united in marriage to Blanche O. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Aker, of this city; four sons, Norman Kunkel, of near Bluffton; John Kunkel, at home; Arden Kunkel, of Tocsin; Luster Kunkel, of Anderson; two brothers, Fred Kunkel, of Poneto, E. O. Kunkel, of Great Bend, Kans; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Frenche, Mrs. Ralph Morford, both of Indianapolis; Mrs. Brooks Soward, of Lancaster township, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Tocsin Evangelical United Brethren church with Rev. W. E. Workman and Rev. Homer Studabaker officiating. Burial will be in the Tocsin cemetery. Friends may call at the Elzey and Son funeral home in Ossian until noon Monday at which time the body will be taken to the residence.
