His daughter, Mrs. Ethel Unland of Arlington, was on her way to her father’s bedside and did not learn of his death until she reached Denver. Morley, who passed away last Monday at Denver, Colo. His daughter, Mrs. Ethel Unland of Arlington, was on her way to her father’s bedside and did not learn of his death until she reached Denver. Mr. Morley was one of the real pioneers of Washington county, coming here with his parents at the age of nine years. He was born in Steuben county, Ind., July 28, 1848. He lived with his parents on what is called the Morley homestead, and in the early days it was known as the “Half way house”. Arlington consisted of a few small houses then and was known as Belle Creek, but had no post office, the Morley place then being the post office and headquarters for all the freighters and railroad men who built the first railroads through this county. Mr. Morely sold his farm to Theodore Rinas and in March, 1919, left for Colorado where he has since spent his time. Surviving him besides his wife of this place are three sons, LeRoy A. of Creighton, Theron Claude of College View, Harvey C. of waterloo, Ia., one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Unland of Arlington and a number of grandchildren.
