She was baptized at Hope Lutheran Church in Sumner, IA., and she was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, IA. She graduated from the last class of Randalia High School in 1957. Read More	Barbara Ann Lauer, age 71, of West Union, IA, died February 22, 2012 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Barbara was born on May 8, 1940, to Warren "Jack" and Mildred (Voelker) Miner on their family farm in Randalia, Iowa. She was baptized at Hope Lutheran Church in Sumner, IA., and she was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, IA. She graduated from the last class of Randalia High School in 1957. On July 16, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gordon Lauer at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, IA. Barbara worked as an agent and secretary for Lauer and Lauer Insurance Agency. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1963. Barbara enjoyed gardening and was a devoted Iowa State Cyclones fan. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her husband, Gordon of West Union, IA.; two sons, Terry Lauer of Gurnee, IL., and Michael (Lynn) Lauer of West Union, IA.; a grandson, John Lauer; a granddaughter, Morgan Lauer; three brothers; Ken (Carol) Miner, Donald (Gladys) Miner, and Gerald (Carol) Miner; a sister, Shirley (Charles) Hegseth; three sister-in-laws, Donna (Jerry) Amfar, Marilyn Miner, Sandra (Stan) Day; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Miner and Duane "Dewey" Miner; two nephews, Brooks Miner and Dion Hegseth; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Helen Lauer. Memorials should be directed to Hope Lodge in Rochester, MN., or Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union, IA, with Rev. David Grant as officiant. Burial will be held at West Union Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Burnham – Wood Funeral Home in West Union, IA. The Burnham – Wood and S.K.
